Mrs. Annie Ruth Evans was born in Newton, MS on December 25, 1926 to the late Henry and Bertha Ratcliff, where she was affectionately known as Crissy Belle. She devoted her life to being a loving mother and homemaker. Annie entered into holy matrimony in 1947 with Mr. Leroy Evans. To this union, nine children were born. She was a member of Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active until her health failed. Annie was an excellent mother; grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved caring for her family, gardening and cooking. Annie extended her heart and home to the many friends and family that her children met throughout the years. Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Evans; two brothers, Frank Ratcliff and Joe Ratcliff; one sister, Ruth Sims and two children; her son, Lee �Junior� Evans and daughter, Dorothy (Wilbur) Evans Jefferson. Her memories will be forever treasured by her three sons; Jerry Evans, Olando (Marilyn) Evans, and Antonio Evans, all of Gulfport, MS; four daughters, Bertha (Clark) Madison, Joyce McChester, Carolyn (Michael) Boggs; and Robin (Larry) Jones; all of Gulfport, MS; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services for Mrs. Annie Ruth Evans will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church with service beginning at 11:00 am and visitation one hour before. The family of Mrs. Annie Ruth Evans has entrusted her care to the professional staff of Richmond-August Funeral Home.
