Ayo Dara Singleton, 47, a resident of D’Iberville, MS, passed away on August 8, 2022, at her home, as a result of her battle with sickle cell anemia.
Ayo was born in New Orleans, LA, on March 9, 1975. Ayo was born to Rickey and Sandra Singleton. Ayo attended Biloxi High School, where she was involved with many auxiliaries and after school clubs.
Although she had sickle cell anemia, it did not have her; this was evidenced by her amazing strength and resilience in maintaining a number of jobs where she was beloved by one and all. She was an avid sports watcher and closely followed the New Orleans Saints. She loved her family, especially her mother, Sandra F. Singleton and her daughter, Auriah Singleton; this loved was rivaled only by her love of her dogs, Sadie and Lucky.
Ayo was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Betty R. Ford and Rena Singleton, her father, Rickey Singleton, her father figure, Jerry Woods, and cousins, Arnold Harris and Sonja Reed.
Ayo is survived by her mother, Sandra F. Singleton, daughter, Auriah Singleton, brother, Kareem Singleton, sister-in-law, Lashun Singleton, aunts Carolyn Ford, Patience Harris and Patricia Ivory, nieces, Jalah and Imani Singleton, nephew, Rion Gines, and a host of relatives and friends.
