Bettye J. Davis, 73, a resident of Biloxi MS, passed away, December 4, 2020 at Merit Health Medical Center.
She was born in Laurel, MS, August 29, 1947, to the late Doyace and Lillie Mae Wallace. Bettye attended Xavier University of Louisiana and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She was united in marriage to Alonzo J. Davis on January 16, 1975.
Bettye spent her working career in the Army National Guard, working as an operations clerk.
A consummate mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Bettye was an exceptional lady and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. There were many pieces to this beautiful lady. She was quiet, but exhibited a high degree of intelligence and had a great impact on people because she was an amazing person to talk to and always gave good advice. Bettye was an avid QVC shopper, she purchased some of the most unique items from this site. Although she may not have played sports, she was a sports enthusiast and loved watching tennis (Serena Williams), golf (Tiger Woods), and football any day of the week.
Anyone who met Bettye loved her instantly! She had a unique way of making a person feel as if they were the most important person in the world. She will be deeply missed by her children, family, and friends.
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Alonzo J. Davis; parents; sisters and brothers: Lucille Reed, Levester Wallace, Tommy Wallace, Dorothy Holloway, and Eloise Lee.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories to her blessed and devoted family: Sisters: Corine Kelly and Charlene Johnson; Three Children: Vernitia Burton of Derby, Connecticut, Yolanda (Anthony) Hill of Atlanta, Georgia and Alonzo (Chandra) Davis Jr. of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren: Brittney Davis Anderson, Cepea Burton, Kenita Burton, Kobe Summitt, Ebony Robinson, Alazashia Davis, Kenya Davis, and Joravyn Riley; four great grandchildren: Jordyn Anderson, Cairo Burton, Khloe Davis, and Imani Smith; Special friends of the family: Latanya Winn Rogers, Danielle Leach, Jasmine Mount, Paul Pollard, Peggy Gibson, and Jeanette Odom; a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services for Ms. Bettye Davis will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Infinity Chapel.
