Ms. Bobbie Jean Jefferson Williams, 68, resident of Gulfport, MS, formerly of New Orleans, LA, went home with the Lord, February 16, 2018 in Ruston, LA after a brief illness.
Bobbie Jean was born in Jayess, MS August 3, 1949, to D.C. and Esther T. Jefferson of Tylertown, MS. Bobbie Jean graduated from J.J. Gulledge High School in 1968. She was married to Joseph Williams of New Orleans, LA in 1971. To this union one child was born, Tiffany LaShon Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Dr. Tiffany (Richard) Bates; granddaughters Christall and Chirstan Bates, all of Ruston, LA; a sister, Rhoda J. McIntosh of Gulfport, MS; and three brothers, Ira D. Jefferson of Pass Christian, Mishiah Jefferson and Dennis Hal Jefferson, both of New Orleans. Bobbie Jean also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ms. Bobbie Jean Jefferson Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. D.C. Jefferson and Mrs. Esther Thornton Jefferson; and her three brothers, Samuel D. Jefferson, Reginald Denny Jefferson, and Leon Rogers Jefferson.
The funeral services for Ms. Bobbie Jean Williams will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel in Tylertown, MS: visitation at 10 AM, service at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Thornton Family Cemetery under the direction of Richmond-August Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an UTMA/Scholarship Fund at Chase Bank (Acct #6199).
