Bobby Hampton, 81, a resident of D’Iberville, MS, passed away, on 17 May 2022, in Canon Hospice - Gulfport, MS.

He was born in Harlem, Georgia, on September 21, 1940, the son of Henry Marvin Hampton and Mary Lizzie Moore (Francois). Bobby attended Blanchard Consolidated High School – Valedictorian; Morehouse College- Business Studies and Phillips Junior College- Associate of Arts. Bobby was married to Almeta Harris Hampton on June 7, 1964.

Bobby spent his working career in the United States Air Force from 8 Feb 1962 to 1 March 1982, Retired Technical Sergeant working as an Administrative Clerk/Specialist. He was stationed at Lackland AFB, TX; Amarillo AFB, TX; Evreux, France; Lockbourne AFB, Ohio; Andrews AFB, MD – Presidential Support/Aircrews; Utopia AFB, Thailand; Andrews AFB, MD – Aircrew Training Coordinator; Moody AFB, GA – Academic Instructor and Keesler AFB, MS. Administrative Supervisor. Campaigns consisted of Congo Crisis, Berlin Airlift, and Vietnam and received a host of awards and decorations.  From the VA to Ingalls Shipbuilding Supervisor from January 1986 -July 1994 returning to Keesler AFB in various positions Services, Bowling Center, and Golf Course. Bobby enjoyed church and fishing.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Almeta Harris Hampton; his mother Mary Lizzie Moore (Francois); and his father Henry Marvin Hampton.

Bobby is survived by two children Cynthia Denise Hampton-Wilder (Seymour) and Bryan David Hampton; five Grandchildren Jaice Hampton, Breanna Hampton, Sierra Hampton, Bryan David Hampton, II (Deuce), and Bryanna Hampton; and a host of great-grandchildren;  sisters-in-law Shirley Harris, Rose Watkins, brothers-in-law Dennis Harris, Robert Harris; and a host of close relatives who were like brothers and sisters Mac Aruther, Peggy, Barbara, Patricia, Vick, and Bubba Olive; Robert, Veronica, and Sandra Shanks and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at First Missionary Baptist Church, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
