Bruce Deon McClendon, (51) a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away on October 4, 2021. Bruce was born in Mobile, Alabama, the son of Marvin and Dorothy McClendon. Bruce attended Biloxi High School and graduated in 1988. Bruce attended MS Gulf Coast Community College for two years.
Bruce spent his working career of 17 ½ years as an active duty US Army Soldier working in the human resources field. During his time in the Army Bruce served two tours in Korea, one tour in Iraq, and four stateside assignments at Ft Bragg, NC, Ft Rucker, AL, Maxwell AFB, AL, and Ft Drum, NY.
Bruce and Charlotte McClendon were married for 23 years and are the proud parents of their son Cameron D’Von McClendon. And for those of you, that know us well. The McClendon Family had a beloved dachshund named “Chewey” that spent 18 long years as the McClendon’s favorite dog and grand-dog.
Bruce leaves behind a list of Aunts and Uncle Jerald (Irene) Marks [Orlando, Florida], Aunt Emma Myers, Aunts Debbie and Jennifer McClendon [Mobile, AL], and Great Aunts M. L. Johnson [Enterprise, MS] and Stella Mae Ratcliff [Mobile, AL]. His belated grandparents Willie (Willie Mae) Marks and Leonard Smith and Emma McClendon. Bruce is loved by his host of cousins; especially Jerald (Cicely) [Orlando, FL] and Martha Marks [Tampa, FL]. The three of them were raised together more like brothers and sisters.
Bruce leaves behind his cherished companion Roshell Hollins and her sons OJ and Joe Hollins along with his best friend Aaron Bishop and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. McClendon will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Nance Temple Church of God in Christ, Biloxi. The visitation hour will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
