Gulfport

Charlie Frank Idom was born in Forest, Mississippi on May 11, 1945, to the late Mr. Oran Idom, and the late Mrs. Adean Idom. He took his sweet peaceful rest from this life to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, November 10, 2022., doing what he loved to do, cutting grass, blowing the sidewalks, and working in his storage. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist church for many years.

He attended Sherman Hill School in Lake, MS and after the family relocated to Turkey Creek he attended Turkey Creek Consolidated School and received his diploma from North Gulfport High School, Gulfport, MS where he played basketball. He worked at Atlas Van Lines, Bassett Furniture, and operated a Lawn Care Service. He loved working outside at home and at his home church, Mt. Pleasant, where he was also the groundskeeper.

Charlie Frank volunteered his time as a chauffeur, helping out at church, and just generally cheering people up. He enjoyed watching sports, playing dominoes, and cards, and attending the Isaiah Fredericks Senior Center, where he also enjoyed going on field trips. Charlie Frank loved attending family reunions and was a faithful member of his Turkey Creek/North Gulfport Class Reunion Committee.
