Charlean “Min-my” Jones Thompson, 85, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, August 29, 2018.
Charlean was born in Crystal Springs, MS, November 21, 1932, to Ollie and Ethel Lee Jones. Charlean married the late Carey Lee Thompson in 1948. Charlean moved to Biloxi, MS in 1958 and spent her working career at Moore Community House working with the kids as a caregiver and a cook.
Charlean was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Lee Thompson; 4 sisters: Anna Bell McGowan, Christine “Susie” Crawford, Mattie Alexander, Mary Strong; 4 Brothers: Eddie Jones, Walter Jones, Henry Jones, Esters Jones; 2 children: Lula Thompson at birth and Ruby Lee Thompson Woods, and 1 grandchild: Aaden Reese.
Charlean is survived by 1 sister: Mozella Johnson; 7 children: Donald Bruce (Deborah) Thompson, Cheryl Thompson Brown, Laverne Thompson, Carlos (Treani) Thompson, Timothy Thompson of Biloxi, MS; Craig Thompson of Tacoma, Washington, and Linda (Eddie) Collins of Jackson, MS; 13 grandchildren: Jazz (McArthur) Thompson Snider, Devon (Alex) Woods, Sherman Woods, Tujuana Mcgee, Terrell Mcgee, Elijah Smith, Moses Brown, Kyndell Brown, and Jonathan Thompson from Biloxi, MS, David Brown Jr. of Jacksonville, Fl, Lynedda (David) Reese and Alicia Collins of Jackson, MS, Jasmine Taylor of Grand Rapids, Michigan and 16 great-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law: Rosie Jones of Biloxi, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Charlean Thompson will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 11:00 with visitation at 10:00 at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Richmond August Funeral Home.
