Charles Alford Manning, 79, a resident of Ocean Springs, Ms passed away, November 16, 2019, at his home from ongoing health issues. He was born in Tylertown, October 14, 1940, the son of Charles “Charlie” and Mary Willie Mae Manning. Charles attended J.J Gulledge in Tylertown, Ms and received his high school diploma. Charles received his Associate degree from The Prentiss Institute in 1963. Charles was married to Gloria Jean Franklin on January 10, 1964.
Charles spent his working career in Pascagoula at Ingalls Shipbuilding working 42 years with military ships as a Planning Specialist. Charles was a very active member of his church as a deacon and member of the Brotherhood choir.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Mary Manning; 2 brothers and 1 sister Clark Manning, Fred Manning and Annie Pearl Thompson.
Charles leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 55 years Gloria Jean Manning; 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Darrell Manning, Simmie Rae Manning, Mataska (Clinton) Brooks, Dorothy (Jerry) Stapleton, Gladis Miller; 4 children Charles (Pamela) Manning Jr., Warren (Zavia) Manning, Randall (Valerie) Manning, Kenya Wills; 11 grandchildren, Justin Reeves (Dallas, Tx), Randi and Mia Manning (Brandywine, Ma), Rhealyn, Laila and Kaila Manning (Las Vegas, Nv), Tave’ Henry (Ocean Springs, Ms), Daijah, Monique, Jazmine and Ciara Wills (Lilburn, Ga) and 1 Great granddaughter Laura Montgomery (Ocean Springs, Ms); and a host of special family and friends.
