Charles Howard Taite, Sr.

Mr. Charles Howard �Butternut� Taite, Sr. was born April 17, 1936 to the Late Sylvester and Nora Taite in Monroeville, AL. He married Etta Faye Montgomery on September 26, 1959. Charles worked for Mississippi Chemical from 1962 � 1985 and then with the Jackson County Port Authority until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Faye Taite, his father and mother, Sylvester and Nora Taite; daughter, Sherry White; three sisters: Susie Mae Pugh, Ella Louise Richardson, and Beverly Ann Taite. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Charles Taite, Jr.; two daughters: Angela (Ronald) Goins and Pamela Taite; Eight grandchildren: Markesha Johnson, Kemo White, Antoine Washington, Kiara Taite, Jasmine Taite, Jeremy Taite, Justice (DeMarquis) Biggs and Chanel Taite; Eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Marion Taite and Sylvester Taite, Jr.; Four sisters: Elnora Locke, Mary Armstrong, Alberta (Nick) Booker and Geraldine Mallard, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Moss Point, MS. Visitation from 10:00 - 11:00AM with services beginning at 11:00AM. The family of Mr. Charles Howard Taite, Sr. has entrusted his care to the professional staff of Richmond-August Funeral Home.
