Darnell Owens

Mr. Darnell �Donald� Owens, 64, of Bethesda, Maryland, passed away April 17,2012; in Biloxi, Mississippi. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he worked many years for New York City Public Works and also operated his own appliancecompany. When he was not helping people with repairs or other personal needs,he was watching New York sports teams, taking care of his favorite cars, and providing comic relief to his friends and family. Preceding Darnell in death were his parents, Johnnie and Mabel Owens, and his brother, Ernest Owens. He left to treasure his memory his daughters Lisa Owens, Tyran Alston, and Bianca Jefferson; his older brother,John Owens; younger sisters Marian Pentheny, Gwendolyn Britton, and Beverly Owens Goodwine, several loving grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, longtime friend, Catherine Johnson, many loving friends and his beloved hunter-green Jeep Cherokee, �Jeepo.� Darnell was cremated at Richmond August Funeral Home in Biloxi, Mississippi. His memorial will be held at Georgian Colonies, 3725 Dunsinane Drive in Silver Spring, Maryland, May 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. The family of Mr. Darnell "Donald" Owens entrusted his care to the professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
