Doris Cordelia Busch, 107, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014. She was born July 21, 1906 in Natchez, MS to Richard and Louise Busch. She became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi in 1936. Miss. Busch graduated from the New Orleans Public School System and attended McDonough #35 and Gilbert's Academy. She received her B.A. in Chemistry from Dilliard University and furthered her studies at Southern University, Atlanta University and Tougaloo College. An outstanding teacher and educator, Miss. Busch taught at Florida Memorial Junior College, Nichols High School and Biloxi Colored High School and was Librarian at Nichols High School and Bay St. Louis High School. Ms. Busch served as Service Club Director for a number of years at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her parents, an uncle and aunt, Henry and Melvina Butler. She leaves to cherish her memory, James and Betty Pollard, the entire Pollard family and the First Missionary Baptist Church Family of Biloxi. A wake will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5 until 7pm at First Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 17th with visitation one hour prior at First Missionary Baptist Church, 658 Esters Blvd, Biloxi, MS. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
