Dorsie Mae Bailey-James

On April 27, 1935, Dorsie Mae Bailey/James was born to the late Sol and Alma Bailey in Union MS.

She passed away August 10^th 2022, at the Lake View Nursing Home in Gulfport, Miss. She was a long-time member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, now under the leadership of Reverend H. Le Patrick Hartwell.

Dorsie is preceded in death by her late husband Porter James, her parents Sol and Alma Bailey, her sibling Edward Bailey, Essie J. Bailey, Selby Bailey, Jewel Bailey Bernice Walton and Winnie Butler.

She was blessed with a family that love her dearly.

Cherished by: one son Willie Charles (Skippy) of Gulfport, MS. Five nieces Blany Bridges (Joe), Mary Lois Davis, all of Seattle WA. Ollie Jean Monk, Mary Ann Butler of Alexandria, La Shelia Butler of Gulfport, MS and Odessa Butler of Rome, GA. Four nephews, Charles Lindsey of Gulfport, MS, Edward Butler (Thelma) Reverend Willie Butler all of Alexandria, La John Butler (Gretchen) of Kennesaw GA. A host of great nieces and nephews.

Dorsie enjoyed fishing, attending church, growing beautiful flowers, going to the casino and opening her home to relatives that visit the Gulf Coast.

She will be greatly missed…

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
