W.Earlene Hill, age 85, Passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Earlene was born in Ripley, Mississippi on September 19, 1929 to John and Myrtle Cowan. She grew up in Ripley where she received her Elementary and High School Education. She would leave Ripley with her husband Hugh T. Hill and move to Biloxi and then Gulfport (Handsboro) and make it home for the next sixty years. To that union they raised one son Hugh A. Hill. Earlene was active in her son's school and educational endeavors at St. Johns, where she served as a member of the PTA. She was also a faithful and devoted member at her Church Riley Chapel. Where she served with the United Methodist Women and as a Church Steward. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents John and Myrtle Cowan, sisters Annie Lee Cooper and Almerth Battle; and her brother John M. Cowan. Earlene is survived by her loving son Hugh Anthony (Naomi) Hill of Atascocita, Texas; two Sisters, Irene(Tillman) Howard of New Orleans, LA and Daisy Guyton of Biloxi, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A visitation will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Richmond-August Funeral Home in Biloxi. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Riley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS with visitation one hour before. Interment to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Earlene Hill has entrusted her care to the professional staff of Richmond-August Funeral Home.
