Edna Mae Dillon, 94, a resident of Magnolia, Mississippi in Pike County, passed away October 20, 2014 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where she lived with her son and family. She was born in Magnolia, MS on December 31, 1920, daughter and only child of Acey and Lillie Mae Burton. Edna Mae attended elementary and high school in Pike County. She completed her education at Tuskegee College now Tuskegee University in Alabama and went on to teach at Eva Gordon Elementary in Magnolia, MS for more than 25 years. Edna Mae joined New Star Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. She continued serving New Star throughout adulthood as a Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer and Missionary. Edna Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alva Dillon, Sr.; a son, Floyd Dillon; a daughter, Alice Faye Dillon Enbokhare. Edna Mae is survived by her son, Alva (Diane) Dillon, Jr., MD; 11 grandchildren; more than a dozen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services for Edna Mae Dillon will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at New Star Baptist Church, Magnolia, MS, visitation from 11:00 � 1:00 with services beginning at 1:00.
