Mrs. Elnora Posey, 67, of Gulfport, passed from earthly labor to glorious reward on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in New Orleans, LA. She was born into a loving Christian home of her parents, R.V. and Carlena Agee in Smith County, MS on July 2, 1945. She was the third of nine children. She attended school in the Covington County School System, where she graduated from Collins High School. On July 23, 1964, she was united in holy matrimony with Ellis Ray Posey. She served the Lord throughout her Christian walk. She continued her fellowship with the Lord as she united with First Missionary Baptist Church of Handsboro. She was an extremely dedicated member of the Usher Board, Sunday School Class and the choir. She was a homemaker of several years. She worked for the Gulfport School System as manager of Food Services, where she retired in 2007. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving husband of 48 years Ellis Ray Posey; her mother Carlena Agee of Collins, MS; her son Michael Spivey of Gulfport, MS, her daughters Tamiko Arnold (Al Arnold) of Jackson, MS and Denise Jefferson (Lawrence Jefferson) of New Orleans, LA, her sisters Mary Agee of Gulfport, MS and Eva Jean Buckley (James Buckley) of Stringer, MS and her brother Curtis Agee (Flora) of Collins, MS. Others to cherish her memory are the grandchildren: Christopher (C.J.) Jefferson, A.J. Arnold, Alden Arnold, Colby Jefferson, Asa Arnold, and Canin Jefferson. There are many, many others that she loved and nurtured, her nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Elnora Posey will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the First Missionary Baptist Church Handsboro in Gulfport. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with service immediately following.
