Erick D. Martin

Erick Demond Martin, 50, born in Laurel, Mississippi, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was born on November 12, 1974, to Leotis and Mellie Martin.

 A proud 1994 graduate of St. Martin High School, Erick was a gifted athlete who excelled in football and track. His dedication and talent earned him numerous accolades, but more importantly, a lifetime of friendships and cherished memories. Beyond sports, Erick was known for his warm spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.

 He is preceded in death by his mother, Mellie Martin Husband; father, Leotis Martin; stepfather, Lonnie Husband; paternal grandparents Cleotha and Mary Martin; maternal grandparents, Richard and Mildred Booth; and maternal great-grandmother, Claudie Moffett.

Erick leaves behind his beloved children, Destiny Martin and Erick Martin II, who were his greatest pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Sandra Collins (Jerome), Douglas Booth, and Leotis Martin Jr., as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

 Erick’s legacy of love, resilience, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
