George B. Posey

Mr. George B. Posey, 84, of Biloxi passed away Friday, November 16, 2012. One of nine children, he was born in Collins, Mississippi to the union of Bert and Ester Posey George joined Nance Temple COGIC in 1965 where he faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent until his health started to fail him. He also served as the Gulf Coast District Sunday School Superintendent for more than 40 years. George enjoyed studying God's Word and continued to study the Sunday School lessons until his most recent illness. George was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Ester Posey; four brothers, J.V., Haston, Glennie and Onyx Posey; four sisters Mozelle Booth, Gertha White, Arlena Booth and Johnnie Mae Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 48 years Toni Posey; five children; Sylvia Williams (TX), Joseph Hughey (SC), Shirley Posey (CA), Tina (Keith) Wilson (OH) and Glenn Posey (MS); four granddaughters, four grandsons, six great-grandchildren; god-son Paul Randall, god-daughter Ida Pope, loving nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives, friends and saints. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Nance Temple Church of God in Christ in Biloxi. The family of Mr. George Posey has entrusted his care to the professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
