George Strong was born on August 17, 1926, in Crystal Springs, MS. He was born to his loving parents, the late Gentle and Mary Cora Bell Strong. After faithfully serving the Lord, he entered into his eternal rest on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:09 am while at Keesler Air Force Base (AFB) Hospital, Biloxi, MS. At an early age he accepted the Lord into his life and became a member of Living Waters Holiness Church in Biloxi, MS. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Margaret Strong on January 16, 1952. From this union five children were born: Mary S. Koonce; Ethel Sunni Medina; late Howard Chambers, Edward M. Strong, and Richard E. Strong. They brought much joy and laughter to his years. A devoted father and committed husband, he spent many years working as a carpenter building residential homes and commercial buildings throughout South Mississippi for years before he became ill. Uncle George will be remembered for saving the life of a mother and her small kids from drowning during the worst hurricanes that hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the late 1960s, which was Hurricane Camille. His internal strength and willingness to battle long-term illnesses for over 40 years gives us hope and encouragement to overcome obstacles we face in life. Preceding him in death is his only sibling: James Ernest Strong of Crystal Springs, MS He leaves behind four precious children: Mary S. Koonce; Ethel Sunni Medina; Edward M. Strong, and Richard E.
