Gregory B. Wilson

Mr. Gregory B. Wilson, 61, a resident of Biloxi, Mississippi, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020. He was born in Jackson, MS to Mayo Donald and Elizabeth Bowie Wilson on April 21, 1958. He was a graduate of Clarksdale High School and furthered his education at Jackson State University majoring in Mass Communications. As a young boy, Greg accepted Christ and was an active member of Haven United Methodist Church. Greg later joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in Biloxi, MS where he was actively involved as a choir member, health and wellness ministry (co-chair), couples, marriage & single ministry and a member of the United Methodist Men. Greg possessed a love of music, the performing arts and was a dynamic singer and photographer. He was devoted to his family, church, friends, and community; always a willing giver, having volunteered time and money to support numerous causes. Greg was the Outreach Program Manager for Coastal Family Health Centers in Biloxi, Mississippi and was on the boards of Mercy Housing, East Biloxi Community Collaborative, Invest Health Initiative and Biloxi High School Junior Leadership Program. He received numerous awards for his community work and recently, awarded Employee of the Quarter. The eldest of four children, Greg was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Marlene Lorene White where two children Allison and Troy were born. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Reverend Thomas E. Wilson & Cassie Elizabeth Wilson and maternal grandparents Alfonzie Bowie and Alma McDonald Bowie. Greg is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marlene “Lorene” Wilson, daughter, Allison Wilson Hunter (Chico), son, Troy Anthony Wilson (Lauren), son, John Rolle (Martinique), father, Mayo D. Wilson, mother, Elizabeth B. Wilson, sister, Sheila W. Jackson (Kim), brother, Anthony K. Wilson (Yvette), sister, Sharon F. Wilson; mother in law Barbara Morgan, brothers-in-law, Roy Collier (Simone), Anthony Morgan, Gene White, Dewitt Ball (Alvanetta,) and Scott Ball (Cynthia); sisters-in-law, Darline Thadison (George), Tammy McGowan, grandchildren, Dean Hunter, Madison Hunter, Skylar Hunter, Ryan Dawson, Ryder Edge; Janiya Rolle, John Rolle Jr., Jamarius Rolle, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A public viewing will be held Friday, February 28, 2020, from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Infinity Funeral Home, 184 Main Street, Biloxi. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 29, 2020, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 696 Dr. Martin L King Jr Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39530; with visitation one hour before.
