Harry Lee Smith Sr.

Harry Lee Smith Sr., 71, a resident of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away, on 11/5/2023, in Silverhill, AL at his home from a long illness.

He was born in Ocean Springs, MS on 2/4/1952, the son of Johnny Smith and Sally Smith.

Harry attended E.H. Keys High School until the 10th grade, transferred to Ocean Springs High School and received his diploma; and attended Jackson State University.

Harry was married to Audrey Moore on 3/25/1978.

Harry spent his working career at Brooks Armored Truck Service working in the driving/delivery field. His hobbies consisted of sports, music, and cars, and helping with the Boys Scouts with his son.

Harry was preceded in death by his father Johnny Smith, mother Sally Smith, brother Melvin Smith, and sister Elizabeth Lett.

He is survived by and leaves to mourn and cherish his wife Audrey Smith, 3 children: Laurie Moore, Lana Moore, and Harry Smith, Jr. 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Harry is survived by his wife Audrey Smith; and siblings; Calvin Smith, James, and Sidney Berlyn Smith, Grady Smith, Raymond Smith, Christina Smith, Jeannetta Smith, and Jessie Johnson. 5 grandchildren Charles Shaw, Jessica Shaw, Danielle Shaw, Joelle Day, and Judea Day and 7 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
