Mr. James Wheeler Griffin, 50, a resident of Dossville, Mississippi, passed away, February 2, 2014 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. Griffin was born in Carthage, Mississippi, January 15, 1964, the son of Wheeler and Irene Griffin. �Wanka�, as he was fondly known by family and friends, attended Thomastown Attendance Center and graduated with his high school diploma in 1983. He spent his working career in as a licensed barber working at Jackson Barber Shop. This was his passion, truly his God-given gift. James was also a Mason working in the construction industry. In his spare time, he volunteered as a basketball referee for the Leake County School District. James was an outgoing individual who loved to cook, sing and spend time with his children. He will be remembered as a great father who taught his sons well. James Griffin is survived by his parents, Wheeler and Irene Griffin; one sister Linda (Terrell) Hodges, one brother, Joe Griffin; two sons, Alexander Xavier Griffin and James Tremall Griffin; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for James Wheeler Griffin will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Delydia Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage, Mississippi with visitation from 9:00 � 11:00 a.m. The family of Mr. James Wheeler Griffin has entrusted his care to the professional staff of Richmond-August Funeral Home.
