Mr. James L. Campbell, Jr., 60, of Gulfport entered his eternal rest Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Garden Park Medical Center. Mr. Campbell was born in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the union of Mr. James and Betty Campbell, Sr. He is the eldest of six children . As an Army brat, he grew up in many places including six years in Japan and numerous cities across the US. His family moved to the MS Gulf Coast in October 1968. He was baptized at AME church and graduated from Harrison Central High School. He worked at Taber Metal Company as a machinist for many years. He married his wife, Joyce Lindsey Thompson, August 18, 2003. They have seven children. Mr. Campbell leaves to cherish his loving memory; his wife, Joyce Campbell; his mother, Betty(Colyar)Campbell; his father, James(Lucy)Campbell Sr.; seven children, Kristen Campbell, Thomas Lindsey, Jill Lindsey, Nyoka Brown, Willis Thompson, Marty Davis, and Ursala Davis; two brothers, Reginald Campbell and Marcus(Caroline)Campbell; one sister Brenda(James)Turner; and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by one brother, Derek Campbell; one sister Janice Campbell; his grandparents JC and Sadie Nelson, and Willie and Cam Campbell, Sr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi with visitation one hour before.
