Jennifer Walker

Jennifer Byrd Walker, 54, a resident of Gulfport, MS passed away 12/2/2023 at home, from heart related natural causes. 

She was born in Jackson, MS, on 9/10/1969, the daughter of Gene and Betty Byrd.  Jennifer attended various schools in the area including Forest Hill and Clinton.

Jennifer spent her working career at FEMA.  She also loved to create and spent lots of time creating various crafts for family as well as for craft shows.   Her wreaths are particularly impressive, and she also created ceramics, jewelry and other decorative items.  Her love of family, travel and adventure were unparalleled.  She often took her nieces and nephews on trips to events and theme parks – always in search of a new rollercoaster or extreme ride.   Her ultimate wish was to sky dive and she achieved that wish this past summer. As she said – “I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, and I LOVED it!”  

Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother Kenny and her parents Gene and Betty Byrd.

Jennifer is survived by her 2 brothers Roger Myers (Elizabeth) and Scott White, 5 nieces and nephews Eric Myers (Jennifer), Channing Myers (Megan) Leslie Myers, Jasmine White, Trevor White and 6 great nieces and nephews Menden, Maui, Addy, Kirk, Maverick and Aubreigh all of whom she absolutely adored.  

A celebration of life event will be held in her honor at a future date.  She will be sorely missed.
