Jessie Mae Showers

May 1, 1945 — January 22, 2025

Jessie Mae Showers, born on May 1, 1945, in Vancleave, MS, transitioned peacefully to her eternal rest on January 22, 2025, in Biloxi, MS. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering faith that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A devoted member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Holiness Church, Jessie was known for her deep love of the Lord. Her uplifting spirit was often encapsulated in her favorite phrase: “God Is Good!” This profound faith was a guiding light throughout her life, embodying the grace and strength she exuded. Jessie’s personality was nothing short of regal; she possessed an innate class and elegance that drew people to her. Through the challenges she faced, she remained a beacon of beauty, wisdom, and resilience, captivating all who crossed her path.

Jessie cherished her time spent with family and friends, delighted in cooking for them, and creating lasting memories around the dinner table. Her love for entertainment was evident as she enjoyed watching WWE, reveled in the suspense of Chucky movies, and engaged with the thrill of her favorite game shows, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. As a lover of soap operas, Jessie brought joy and laughter wherever she went, building a legacy of cherished moments.

She is survived by her beloved sisters, Sharon (Paul) Mack, Rosie Murray, Bobbie Jean Jackson, and Shirley Jean Rogers, as well as her cherished brothers, Cleveland Jackson and Percy Jackson. Jessie was a proud grandmother to Damon Walker Jr., Anntranease Regina Showers, Paul O’Neil Showers, Danechia Marie Walker, Darius Walker, and Devon Renee Lancon. The blessing of her seven great-grandchildren—Alaysia Showers, Aniyiah Showers, Kelsie Robinson, Cora Walker, Natalie Walker, Remi Lancon, and Brody Lancon—brought her immense joy, and her love for each of them was boundless.

Jessie is reunited in heaven with her parents, Rosie Lavenia Jackson and William “Hardy” Jackson, and her siblings who have passed on—brothers Carl Richard, Hardy “Pee-Wee,” and Michael Jackson; and James Jackson, as well as her sisters, Dorothy Mae Jackson, Betty Jean Jackson, and Carrie Mae Jackson. Her children, Eddie Earl Showers, Luzzenia Mae Walker, Sherlene Jenevia Showers, and Richard Carl Showers, are surely blessed to carry her spirit forward.
