Jimmy R Williams, age 71, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, October 8, 2018, at Merit Health Hospital.
Mr. Williams was born in Hazelhurst, MS, January 20, 1947, the son of the late James and Catherine Williams. Jimmy" attended Hazelhurst High School and graduated in 1967. Jimmy was married to the former Ollie Cooks on December 22, 1984.
Jimmy spent his working career at Keesler Air Force Base working at the Civil Service Key Store. He enjoyed hanging under the tree with friends, and making people laugh; there was never a dull moment when with him.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents: James and Catherine Williams, 2 brothers: Lee Williams and Charles Williams, 1 sister: Bernice Catchings; a very special mother-in-law, Bobbie N. Cooks, and 3 grandchildren: ZayShonne Whittle, ZaMyrikah Whittle, and ZaRheon Whittle.
Jimmy is survived by Ollie Williams; 6 Brothers and 5 Sisters: Carrie Mae (Jimmy) Jackson, Rosie (James) Price, Betty (James) Sorell, Climer Faye Williams, Gloria (Samuel) Banks, James (Rosie) Williams, Don (Dorothy) Williams, George (Nettie) Williams, John Earl (Christine) Williams, and Arthur (Ethel) Williams, Willie (Sandra) Williams; 3 Children: Zederick (Arianda) Cooks, Yashiko (Tremayne) Whittle, and Crystal Washington all of Biloxi, MS. Grandchildren: Zenknightra Tatum of Gulfport, Zelesyia Cooks Ft. Polk LA, Quilesya Odom of Moss Point MS, Zederick Cooks Jr., Biloxi, Paracelsus Smothers of Biloxi, MS, Za'Nyirah Whittle of Biloxi, MS, ZaMarion Washington of Biloxi, MS, ZaKhalin and Kamiyah Simmons of Biloxi, MS, Nakya and Mya Magee of Biloxi MS, and RayAna Cooks of Biloxi and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Williams will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church with visitation one hour before. The burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 9:00 am.
