Joe William May, 69, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, August 4, 2020 at Ocean Springs Hospital from colon cancer surrounded by family.
He was born in Tylertown, MS on July 18, 1951, the son of Joe Reese May and Mae Bell May. Joe was very well known for his friendly and joking nature. He enjoyed listening to songs and treasured his great collection of music. His favorite restaurant was the Waffle House in which the staff always offered a warm welcome. He would occasionally volunteer at nursing homes and would offer help when needed.
Joe was married to Magnolia Woods for 10 years but later divorced.
Joe spent his working career as a custodian on Keesler Air Force Base for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Reese May and infant son James May.
Joe is survived by eight brothers and sisters: James W. May, Clarence W. May, Paul E. May, Ricky R. May, Eloise May, Thelma May, Dorothy J. Payton, and Selisa R. May. Four children; Barbara May, John May, Robert May, and Betty May; Four grandchildren, Dejuana May, Jordon May, Amiya May, Braylon Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Services will be held Friday, August 14, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Infinity Funeral Home with visitation one hour before. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery.
