Joseph L. Bournes was born March 8, 1961 in Prentiss, Mississippi to the late C.B. Bournes and Annie Pearl Bournes (Jackson). He peacefully entered into an eternal slumber on November 14, 2011 at Garden Park Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi to his new home in glory. His early education was received from Harrison County Public School system. At an early age, Mr. Joseph Bournes accepted Christ into his life, was baptized, and became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Joe was admired for his humble spirit and ability to make his friends smile. He was affectionately known to some of his friends as �Chico� and to others as Joe Joe. His cheerful, caring, and loving heart afforded him many opportunities to encourage many families and friends over his life. Joe enjoyed communicating with others. He never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed holidays because it gave him an opportunity to celebrate with the ones who loved him most. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, and loving brother Danny Bournes. He leaves to cherish fond memories his mother Annie Bournes, one son Joseph �Jovon� Bournes, two sisters Peggy (Wilbert) Harvey, Lisa (Clifton) Walker, three nephews Wilbert Harvey Jr., Clifton Ray Walker Jr., Tommy Walker and a loving long-time friend. He also was a father figure for Yolanda, Kevin, Jimmy-Dale, Chris, Ashley, Tee, and Trevon. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Gulfport with visitation one hour before. The family of Mr. Joseph Bournes has entrusted his arrangements to the caring professionalism of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
