June Frances Williams (hdezwebcast.com)
June (Frances) Williams was called home to Glory on November 24, 2022. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 80.
Frances, the daughter of the late Odelia and Frank Burns was born in Ocean Springs on February 3, 1942. A graduate of E. H. Keys in Ocean Springs, Frances had a sincere and genuine passion caring for others. She attended Jackson County Jr. College and earned an associate’s degree in nursing. She spent her working career working at hospitals along the coast and prior to her retirement she worked as a home health care nurse.
Frances was married to the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart, Edward (Ed) Williams for 59 years. They met as children and lived only doors apart. Frances and Ed began dating around the age of 14 or 15 and would eventually marry. They traveled the country during Ed’s military career until his retirement. Frances was a devoted mother to twin girls Arleen and Eileen. She did not know that she was having twins until after the first baby (Arleen) was born. After Arleen was delivered and thinking it was finally over, to her disbelief and joy, the doctor informed her that another (Eileen) was on the way.
Frances is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward Williams, her daughters Arleen Williams (Alexandria, VA), Eileen Williams (Diamondhead, MS), her sister Marie Pleasant (Ocean Spring), her brother Charles Burns (Ocean Spring) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
A funeral mass will be held for Frances on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 502 Jackson Street, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Visitation will start at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the mass at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, MS. 39531.
