At the age of 24, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There she had her daughter Uhura Reid, a son, Tito (who later passed) and also adopted two other girls, DeAngela and Tanya Phillips.
Lillie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Lillie loved the Lord and became a member of The Tabernacle of Faith Church in Milwaukee, WI. Later in life she moved back to Ocean Springs, Mississippi to be closer with her mom; and there she was rebaptized and renewed her faith with Jesus Christ on May 19,2024.
Lillie loved being with her family. One of her favorite games was playing Mexican train, which she also called monkey train! She also enjoyed listening to her gospel music, working in her garden and traveling. Lillie had a huge heart and touched the lives of many. She was truly a woman of God, and to know her is to love her. Lillie B. Phillips departed from this life on June 5, 2024.
Lillie was preceded in death by her father Willie Earl Lewis, mother Thelma Ealy; brother Johnny Lewis; her son, Tito Reid; grandson, DeShawn Phillips-Greer; her special aunt, Bobbie Pete and other loving family and friends.
Lillie leaves to cherish her loving memories to her beloved daughters, DeAngela Wilson, Uhura Reid, and Tanya Phillips, along with her grandchildren Jawonn, Desmond,Deavon, DeAsia and Jourdan. Siblings Lucy McBeath, and Willie Lewis (Linda)her Uncle Leroy Lewis (Evelyn) and a host of other relatives and friends who loved her dearly!
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 17, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Macedonia Baptist Church, Ocean Springs.
