Lottie Mae Thomas (hdezwebcast.com)Lottie Mae Thomas, affectionately called Nap or Maw Maw was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born on May 13, 1941, in Coal Ville, AL to Zachary Robinson and Fannie Lee Taylor. She was raised in Perkinston, MS and then migrated to Biloxi, MS as a young adult. It was there she met her belated husband, Joseph Earl Thomas.
Lottie was a long-standing employee of AAFES on Keesler Air Force Base for over 45 years. She retired in 1980 and became a full-time homemaker and stay-at-home mother/grandmother. Lottie found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life. Her passion/talent was cooking and caring for her family. When she wasn't in the kitchen, Lottie enjoyed spending time with her friends; engaging in lively games of bingo and cards. She always brought laughter and cheer to those around her. More than anything else, Lottie cherished her family; they were the center of her world and the love she had for them knew no leaps or bounds. Her love was immeasurable, as she cherished every moment spent with them, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. Lottie found solace in attending church and being content at home, which she considered her sanctuary and favorite place in the world. She would often be found relaxing in her reclining chair and watching her favorite shows. Lottie will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her loving spirit. They will forever cherish and miss her mouthwatering collard greens and cornbread. Her attributes to those who knew her will forever remain in their hearts. May she rest in peace.
