On Saturday, May 20, 2023 God called Marcus Magee home to rest.
Marcus Anthony Magee was born February 6, 1962, in Biloxi, Mississippi; he was the oldest child of Pearly E. and Georgine Magee.
Marcus joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at the age of six and was baptized by the late Reverend Dr. E. H Potter
Marcus attended Central Elementary and Nichols Junior High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. Marcus went on to Biloxi Senior High School where he showed off his athletic abilities in football as a star Cornerback. Marcus was the highlight of Friday Night Football.
Marcus was completely devoted to family and friends in a loving and kind manner. He was better known as "Mark" for his cool swag.
Marcus graduated from Biloxi Senior High School in 1980. He continued on his educational journey at Grambling State University.
Marcus was preceded in death by his father, Pearly E. Magee; grandfathers Pearl Magee and Howard Turner Sr., two grandmothers, Rosa Lee Magee and Jennie Lee Turner; uncle Henry "Booney" Turner; two aunts Pearline Jenkins-Lewis and Pasty Lee Seymour; and a cousin Lenize "Hayes" Jenkins.
Marcus leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Georgine Magee of Biloxi, MS; a sister, Ramona Fay Magee of Norristown, PA; two brothers, John Roger Seymour (Mary) of D'Iberville, MS; and Sean Lee Magee of Biloxi, MS; bonus brother Harris "Lucky" Lewis of Biloxi, MS; uncle Howard Turner (Vanessa) of Missouri City, TX; one niece Regina Cook of Chicago, IL; and a nephew Terrance Cook of Laurel, MS; and a host of beloved cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, at 11:00 am. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
