Marguerite Delma Burney Tatum Scobba was born December 13, 1931, in Biloxi, MS, to John Leonard and Frances C Fairley Burney.
On Tuesday March 12, 2019, she received her wings after living a full and beautiful life. Starting in Biloxi, MS to Amarillo, TX, Anchorage Alaska, Trenton NJ, Honolulu HI, Pensacola Fl and finally Jacksonville FL.
Marguerite will be remembered by her family for the Sunday dinners she would prepare after church for the single military soldiers who were stationed in Hawaii. At any point she could be called a “social butterfly”. She then took on another hobby which was ceramics. She could be found at the hobby shop pouring and painting her many figurines. All in all, she lived a full life and had a heart of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Leamanda Burney Perkins, two brothers Jerome Shaw and John Leonard Burney Jr and one son James Howard Tatum.
Marguerite was survived by her loving husband of 39 years John T Scobba, five daughters Frances Gardner (Andwele), Margaret Jones (Ed), Rolinda Darden (Johnnie), Beverley Langhorne (Larry), Geraldine Yarbrough and one son Alton Tatum (Margaret), Sisters Betty Pollard (James Sr), Geraldine Jackson, sister in laws Ethel Shaw, Julia Van Brunt, Mary Evers, Sheila (John) Banning, brother in law Larry (Carol) Scobba, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
