Mary Nell Magee

Mary Nell MaGee, 53, a resident of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away May 3, 2014 at her family home of natural causes. Mary Nell was born in Prentiss Mississippi on December 9, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Lonnie MaGee of Gulfport Mississippi. Mary grew up in Gulfport and was educated in the public school system. She worked as a cook for Live Oak Drug Treatment Center for 13 years. This is where she was taught how to drive by her boss, Mr. Richard, who loved her dearly. Ms. Wanda was her side kick while working there. Mary was a warrior before she got saved. In 1991, Mary got saved and received the Holy Ghost at the First United Pentecostal Church in Gulfport. This is when she became a warrior for Christ. Mary was a praying and fasting Woman of God. Mary met Bishop Rick August at the First United Pentecostal Church. When her beloved pastor started his ministry, Mary joined him and has been a member of Greater Grace Apostolic Assembly every since. While a member, Mary served faithfully until her health failed. She served on the Pastors Aid Committee, Vision Partners, Choir, and Security and wherever else she could find her hands to do. Mary touched so many lives outside her family, that she earned the name Momma Mary. Momma gave the biggest hugs and smiles to all who crossed her path. We all have fond memories; a power punch or a simple prayer sent out on your behalf. She loved her family, friends and everyone she came in contact with. Being a prayer warrior was evident by Marys constant prayer and praising Jesus everyday until the Lord called her home on May 1, 2104. If Mary was here she would tell you, Dont weep for me, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I kept the faith. Her final prayer was that her family and friends be saved. Sister Mary MaGee leaves her five children, Robert (Theresa) MaGee, Roberta MaGee, Cassandra MaGee, Dennis (Doretha) MaGee and Christopher (Mandy) MaGee, to remember a strong, best friend with a caring and loving heart. She also leaves to cherish her memory, nine siblings: Robert Knight, Ruthie Hundley, Lorraine, Dennis MaGee Jr., Mammie MaGee, James MaGee, Iona MaGee, Authur (Theresa) MaGee and Marchella MaGee; nineteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marys memory will also remain with her spiritual sister and best friend Ms. Rosalind Alexander and her fishing buddy and friend Ms. Ruby. Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11am with visitation one hour before at Greater Grace Apostolic Assembly, 394 Forest Avenue, Biloxi, MS. The family of Ms. Mary Nell Magee has entrusted her services to the caring staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
