Money Green Edwards

On the evening of Wednesday, April 22, 2015, Sis. Money Green Edwards, a native of Kingston, MS and a long-time resident of Biloxi, MS, was called home to rest from her labors. She was born April 5, 1947 in Natchez, MS to the union of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Green � the eighth of nine children. Money lived her life as she commanded but recommitted her life to Christ in 1998 at the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Larry T. Holmes. She was a committed member of both the Senior Usher and the United Usher boards. She was also a dedicated member of the Julia Moore Christian Women�s Society in which she served as President up until her health failed. She worked diligently and took great pride in hosting events which honored the elderly and disabled. Money also served as a long-time member of the Lucinda Robinson Chapter 6 Order of the Eastern Star of Natchez, MS, under the leadership of her only living brother, Grant Green, the Grand Patron of the Lucinda Robinson Chapter and Masonic Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her mother, Augustine Stewart Green and father, Willie Green; three grandchildren, Antress , DeTorio, and Morcal Butler; five brothers, Joseph (Woody) Green, Wilbert Green, Leroy Green, Clifton (Bee-Bee) Green and Forrest (Buddy) Stewart; one sister-in-law, Rebecca Jones; and three dear friends, Lorraine (Mrs. Bay-Bay) Jones, Minnie Donald and Nancy Peoples. Money leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Elder Charles A. (Rachel) Edwards, Jr., Valerie (Wilbert) Sidney, Sonya Butler, Biloxi, MS and Roslyn Green, Mobile, AL; nine grandchildren, One devoted, Kiara Q. Green, Houston, TX, Raikene D. Edwards, Kyra Butler, Marquael Butler, Jevaris Butler, JoVanna Polk-Fairley, Biloxi, MS, Shantia Hooker, Birmingham, AL, Haley Moffett, and Jaden Edwards, Gulfport, MS; and four great-grandchildren; Asiya Buchanan, Lawrence Robertson Jr., ToriAnn Butler Fairley, and Landon Robertson, all of Biloxi, MS; one very loving and devoted sister and brother-in-law, Airbunia and James E. Kettley, Biloxi, MS; one very loving and devoted brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Ernestine Green, Natchez, MS; near and dear extended family which includes the Green, Bingham, Moore, Green, Edwards, Evans, Jones, Peters and Gross families; two special spiritual sisters; Bea Pargo and Mary Calmes; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and spiritual friends. Mrs. Edwards will lie in state on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36603. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 9:30 am until the 12 o'clock noon funeral hour at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 658 Esters Blvd, Biloxi, MS, Reverend Eric E. Dickey, Presider and Officiant. Interment will follow in the Finley Cemetery (Hwy 53), Gulfport, MS.
