Nathaniel Moses Culbreath, III, was born on Monday, May 15, 1971, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was the only child born to Carla Denice Gibson Baker and the late Nathaniel Moses Culbreath, Jr. Nate transitioned peacefully in his sleep at his home in Slidell, Louisiana on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of fifty-three.

Nate graduated from Biloxi High School (BHS) in 1989, where he played Safety and Cornerback positions on the football team and was a member of the Track and Field Team. In 1989, he won First Place in the Gaston Hewes Relays Long Jump Event. He was inducted into the Biloxi High School Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements.

Nate attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida and graduated from Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked with the Orleans Parish Juvenile Court’s Juvenile Intensive Probation Supervision (JIPS) Program, later worked in management with Allstate Insurance Company, before engaging in his entrepreneurial endeavors. He owned and operated Culbreath Transportation, a full-service charter bus, shuttle, and tour company specializing in group travel and a Mobile Cigar Lounge, an Entertainment and Event Hosting Vehicle.

Nate met his high school sweetheart, Consuelo Ivey where they were elected as “Beaus and Beauties” in their senior year in 1989. Their love blossomed and after reuniting ten years later, they were married on April 24, 1999, moving to Slidell, Louisiana. They recently celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary in 2024. They have enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.

Nate developed a love for golf and was a very active player traveling and playing on numerous golf courses throughout the United States. He became a member of the River Parish Golf Association whose purpose was to promote and conserve the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions. Nate quickly became a leader and served as Vice-President and President.

Nate became a member of DeGruy #7 Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, on June 3, 1995, in New Orleans, LA. He served as the Worshipful Master in 2013 and 2014. Nate was very knowledgeable of the Masonic Order, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with the new and existing members.

Nate’s loving and kind yet stern spirit will be greatly missed and live on in those he has touched. His goal in life was to make you smile even at your own expense. He wanted everyone to receive joy in their lives by choosing positivity, prosperity, good health, fortune, joy, and happiness.
