Oliver W. Walker passed away on August 8, 2024, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born on May 30, 1954, in Gulfport, Mississippi.  From an early age, he embraced his faith, accepting Jesus Christ and being baptized in the Holy Spirit. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Baptist Church.

In 1977, Oliver embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Army, where he served his country with pride for over 22 years. During his military career, he earned numerous accolades, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon. His service allowed him to travel the world and gain a broad perspective on life. Oliver was honorably discharged after a career marked by dedication and commitment.

After his military service, Oliver pursued his passion for technology, joining Dell Computer Company, where he worked for 20 years before retiring. His love for computers and technology was evident, and he thrived in this second career. 

Oliver was a cherished member of his community, known for his friendly nature and ability to connect with people wherever he went. His presence touched the lives of many, and his legacy of kindness, service, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him. 

Oliver shared the last four years on a journey with his wife. Their marriage was a testament to the strength of their connection and will forever be cherished. 

Oliver is survived by his wife, Monica Walker.

The family of Mr. Oliver W. Walker extends their deepest gratitude for the prayers, acts of kindness, love, and support received during this time of bereavement. Oliver’s life was a testament to the values of family, faith, and friendship, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
