Patience M. Harris

November 11, 1938 — October 5, 2022

Biloxi

The loving impression of Patience Marie Cooper Harris when you first met her remained unchanged until the morning of Wednesday, October 5, 2022, when she left this world of sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest.

Patience was born November 11, 1938, in Moss Point, MS to Walter and Betty Ruth Cooper (Ford), both of whom preceded her in death.  At an early age, her family relocated from Moss Point to Biloxi, MS.  She attended and graduated from M. F. Nichols High School, class of 1956.

As a young child, Patience became a member of St. Paul Methodist Episcopal Church, now St. Paul United Methodist Church in Biloxi.  Over the years she served as a Communion Stewardess, a member of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee, Gospel Choir, and the Golden Girls.

Patience was employed with the Clements Wire Company; Keesler Air Force Base Exchange; and the Church of the Redeemer Childcare Center.

Patience was a member of Gulf Coast Temple #471 and the Gulf Coast Links Social Club.

Patience was married to Franklin Theodore Harris, who preceded her in death.

Patience was also preceded in death by her brother, Walter Cooper, Jr., her son, Arnold Dexter Harris, and two nieces, Sonja Reed and Ayo Singleton.

Patience leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted daughter, Donna Michelle Woodson; a loving son, Robert Harris; two loving sisters, Carolyn Adside and Sandra Singleton; grandchildren, Tammier Cooper, Simone Woodson, Kweisi Fountain, Devin Harris, Auric Harris, Tyles Smith; great-grandchildren, Cameron Harges, Nolan Fountain, Morgan Smith, Tyles Smith, Jr., Kaiden Lampley, and A’mir Harris; nieces, Keisha Griffith, Naomi Williams, Auriah Singleton, Jalah Singleton, and Imani Singleton; nephews, Pastors Kareem (Lashaun) Singleton, Rion Gines, Rashaad Williams, Jairus Griffith, and Jacarri McDonald; special relatives, Vickie Taylor, Novella Griffin, and Geraldine Brown; and a host of well-loved relatives and friends.

A Heart of gold stopped beating, two willing hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, October 14, 2022, at St. Paul UMC, Biloxi with visitation one hour before.
