Raishon Rashard “Rai” Frazier was born on June 29, 2000, to Koshirol Frazier and Derrick Lamon “Lamon” Barnes in Biloxi, MS. His life here on earth ended on July 20, 2023.
Rai attended Biloxi Public and Jackson County Schools. He received his high school diploma from Penn State University in 2018. In his formative years, Rai enjoyed playing football and basketball. He will be remembered by his peers as witty and outgoing.
At the age of 10, Rai was baptized at Jesus Christ Church of Restitution, under the leadership of Overseer Charles Ballard. He was reared according to Proverbs 22:6 by his mom and bonus dad, Eric Johnson, who provided a home for Rai and his siblings. Rai’s biggest physical asset was his smile, lighting up every room he entered. Although small in stature, he had a gigantic heart and was a protector, taking his role as “family protector” seriously. Rai was a comedian of sorts and a handyman. He was also a foodie and gamer, which is what took up much of his free time.
Rai was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Willie Sparkman.
Precious memories will forever linger in the hearts of his son, Daishon Smith of Ocean Springs; his parents, Koshirol and Eric Johnson of Biloxi; his father, Lamon Barnes of Leakesville; the love of his life, Kira Thomas of Ocean Springs; four sisters, Koryonna Frazier, Makya Frazier, Ny’Keria Frazier, and Jenniffer Frazier of Biloxi; four brothers, Dakarai Frazier, Nygee Barnes, and Rajaun Barnes of Biloxi, and Kamotray Cole of Pascagoula; his grandmothers, Jenniffer Frazier and Janice Barnes of Biloxi; three uncles, Floyd (Johnquilla) Bullock, Demetrius Frazier, and Keron Sparkman of Biloxi; seven aunts, Deshondria (Cedrick) Jenkins of San Antonio, TX, Miyoshi Frazier of Biloxi, Ingrid (Melton) Forbes, Amiese (Sidney) Cooper, Ernella (Davy) Griffin, and Yolanda Walker of Gulfport, and Sandy Spencer of Mobile, AL; great-grandmother and family matriarch, Elder Phyllis Bullock of Biloxi; and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
