Rose Mae Smith Franklin, 62, passed away on March 11, 2019, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was born in Lawrence County, Mississippi to Sylvester and Dorthy J. Smith. Rose attended New Hebron High School and later married George Franklin. She attended the Church of Christ and was employed at Driftwood Nursing Home for more than 30 years as a Patient Care Assistant. Rose enjoyed working and "thrifting." She loved Jesus and her kids, especially her boys. Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Dorthy J. Smith, and sister, Sue McCullum. She leaves to mourn, brothers: Carl Longino, Troy Longino, and Bobby Smith; sisters: Dorothy Jean Preston, Judy Bryant, Ruby Longino, Carolyn Longino, Latora Smith, and Betty White; her precious children: Edward Smith, Johnny Smith, Dorothy Allen, Cynthia Smith, Bernice Smith, and George Franklin III; grandchildren: Shameka Smith, Diaz Easterling, Edward Smith, Sr., Te'Carrie Smith, Jasmine Smith, Jonathan Allen, Jr., Johnny Allen, Diesha Allen, Tye'Leonia Fredrick, Tiesha Smith, Robert Smith, Jayden Creel, and Raelyn Smith, and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Richmond August Funeral Home.
