Mrs. Rosie Lee Dixon, a beloved member of the community passed away on December 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was born on February 7, 1933, in Taylorsville, Mississippi, to Albert Posey and Abell Sullivan Posey.

Rosie dedicated her life to education and made an indelible impact on countless young minds. She passionately taught HeadStart for an impressive 36 years and instilled a love for learning in generations of students. Rosie's commitment to her students went beyond the classroom; she genuinely cared about their well-being and nurtured their dreams.

Having obtained a bachelor's degree in education, Rosie possessed the knowledge and dedication needed to excellently educate her students. Her teaching career became a lifelong vocation that she cherished deeply.

Outside of her profession, Rosie was an incredibly kind-hearted soul who embraced life's simple pleasures. She had a genuine passion for cooking and delighted in preparing mouthwatering meals. Among her specialties, her gumbo recipe stood out as a true crowd-pleaser. Rosie's kitchen was always open to family and friends who were treated with warmth and love as they gathered around the table.

One of Rosie's favorite holidays was Thanksgiving. It was during this special time that she would bring the entire family together around a bountiful feast. The memories of those cherished moments will forever live on in the hearts of all those fortunate enough to have experienced Rosie's love and generosity.

She was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi for over six decades. Rosie's unwavering faith guided her actions, and she faithfully served as a deaconess and missionary throughout her life. Her dedication to the church community left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire others.

Rosie Lee Dixon will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her giving, caring, and loving nature touched the lives of many. She welcomed everyone with open arms, and her selflessness and acceptance of others set an example for everyone to follow.

In memory of Rosie Lee Dixon, a Celebration of Life service will be held on December 30, 2023, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi. The service will begin at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour bebefore and will be a time to honor and celebrate her remarkable life.

Ms. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, James Dixon, Sr. 

She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion. Her warm spirit also lives on through cherished memories shared by her family members and friends.

Although she may no longer be with us, Rosie Lee Dixon's legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire future generations.
