Ruth Pearl Jones, a resident of Rialto, CA, passed away on January 30, 2024, in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was born on June 13, 1946, in Ellisville, Mississippi to Delvin and Rosie Lee Jones. Ruth, lovingly known as "Rooster," lived a fulfilling life dedicated to education, community service, and spreading joy to those around her.

Ruth's passion for education led her to serve as an Assistant Teacher for both the Jones County School System and the Rialto School System. Her impact on young minds extended beyond the classroom as she dedicated countless hours coaching her son's little league team. Ruth and her beloved husband Donald also made it a priority to engage with their community by taking neighborhood kids skating and to games. Additionally, Ruth generously offered her tutoring services to children in need.

Time spent at Alcorn University and her associate degree from Prentiss Institute showcased Ruth's commitment to her education. However, it was her generous spirit and dedication to helping others that truly defined her character. Described as fun-loving and outgoing, Ruth would go out of her way to assist both family members and individuals within the community. Her unwavering commitment to equality and justice inspired those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ruth's generosity was not limited to family alone; she also extended a helping hand to veterans in need. Her caring nature shone through as she selflessly supported those who had served their country.

When she wasn't actively making a difference in the lives of others, Ruth found solace in thrift store shopping, enjoying music, and actively participating in church activities. These hobbies brought her joy and served as an outlet for self-expression.

Ruth passed away peacefully with family by her side – a testament to the love that surrounded her until the very end.

Rooster was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Donald Victor Jones; 4 sisters, Jacqueline, Tommie Jean, Doris and Liz; 2 brothers, Delvin and Charles; and a beloved son, Donald "Punkin" Jones.

Ruth Jones leaves behind cherished memories and an extraordinary legacy of kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her family, including one daughter, Daphne (Mark) Pollock of Gulfport, MS; one son, Derrick Jones of Rialto, CA; 4 granddaughters, Rashida Pollock of Gulfport, MS; JaQuay Jones of Rialto, CA; Heaven and Autumn Jones of St. Augustine, FL; 2 nephews she raised like her own, Shaki and Tychuad Watts of Ontario, CA; and one loving brother, John Earl Jones of Woodland Hills, CA; one daughter-in-law, Lydia McCoy and 3 step grandkids, Miles of Fontana, CA; and Brittany and Caleah of St. Augustine, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
