Ruth C. Smith

Ms. Ruth C. Smith. passed away on September 4, 2021, in Ocean Springs, MS at the age of 66. Ruth was known to close friends and relatives as “Mae.” She loved everybody especially her grandchildren. A day didn’t pass by that she wasn’t calling Dwunshae, Shaela, or Ashton. She attended and graduated from MS Gulf Coast Community College where she was employed as a Special Services Secretary for most of her life. Later, she became a long-term employee of Inez’s Cafe, Biloxi, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph “Joe” Coleman and Mary Ruth Coleman; two sisters: Doreen Coleman and Myra Coleman Booker; five brothers: Eddie Coleman Sr., Thomas Coleman, Jimmie Lee Coleman, James David Coleman, and Rev. J.C. Coleman. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Alisha Coleman(Lionel), Diberville, MS sons Albert Smith(Gulfport), MS, & Mandy Smith, Parchman, MS Six grandkids: Dwunshae Reid, Shaela Reid, Calvin Pritchett Jr., Dejuan Durden, Monica Starks, & Dejean Smith One Great-Grandson: Ashton Malyk Pritchett(Chocolate) sisters: Darlene Nix, Moss Point, MS, Dorothy (Alford) Fairley, Moss Point, brothers: Benjamin (Estelle) Coleman, Vancleave, MS, & John Louis Coleman, Mainz, Germany; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Guiding Light Apostolic Church at 11:00 am. Visitation will start at 10:00 am.
