In Biloxi, Mississippi on January 1, 1984, a beautiful baby girl named Sabra was born to Norma Lafayette and Charles Henry Smith. Their delight in holding their loving bundle of joy is still felt deep within their hearts.
Sabra was always so courageous, upbeat, and radiated so much hope. Her mother was a huge part of her positive outlook and encouragement. On April 30, 2021, Sabra posted, “Thank you God for my Mama. She be there no matter what I’m going through. 4-day hospital stay and she’s been here every day, from pre-check to discharge. I love you Ma... my MVP!” ߘآݤ️ߌڰߌ¹ Sabra made sure to love and cherish her mother and she let the world know!
Sabra dutifully served a tour of duty in the United States Army. Later, she was employed by the United States Postal Service until her untimely transition at the young age of thirty-seven.
Sabra loved her babies: “Mother of four, my life, my heart, my motivation.” She was shown motherly love and was sure to share love with her four darlings, her heartbeats, Denzaryious, Davyion, Damaryion, and Jaylah.
She was especially proud of her son’s graduation from Biloxi High School on Sunday, May 23, 2021, just as Sabra graduated from BHS nineteen years ago in 2002. Our angel Mama said she would be there, “loud and proud.” Sabra said, “I hope all my baby family members come through for him,” and we honored her wishes in celebration.
A very lovely light dimmed briefly on May 14, 2021, but we have hope because her legacy will live on through her children; that we promise. Her father Charles Henry Smith, her grandparents Rosetta Harris and John King, one aunt Mildred Cooper and her high school Sweetheart Denzel Fillmore were waiting to welcome her home that day.
Cherishing such sweet memories, Sabra leaves her four precious children for us to love and nurture, Denzaryious Fillmore, Davyion Fillmore, Damaryion Fillmore, and Jaylah Ferguson.
Sabra also leaves her loving and devoted mother, Norma Lafayette; two beautiful sisters, Rosetta King and Jessica King; six handsome brothers: Charles King, Jesse King, Jeremy King, Charles Smith, Chris Smith, and Anthony Morrisette; four loving aunts: Florine Cooper-Rhone, Earline Harris, Adeline Harris, and Joyce Caesar; a very special cousin, Ziesha Harris, and three devoted friends: Angela Brasley, Tameka Thomas, and Rosheena Henderson.
We must mention all of the wonderful close cousins, relatives, and friends Sabra also leaves to treasure memories.
