Vernon "Big Chris" Bradford, Sr.

Vernon C. "Big Chris" Bradford Sr., age 58, of Las Vegas, NV; passed away December 8, 2011, in Las Vegas, NV. Vernon was a native of Biloxi, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Bradford, grandparents Arthur and Octavia Seymour Bradford, Charles and Janie Brown Webb. Vernon's former employers were Santa Fe Station Hotel and Casino (Las Vegas, NV), Crest Chevrolet (San Bernardino, CA), Dellen Oldsmobile (Indianapolis, IN), Dees Chevrolet (Biloxi, MS). He was a very loyal and dedicated employee to all of his employers. "Big Chris" was a compassionate, understanding, trusting and loyal friend to everyone and full of fun. He was an extremely loving son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and grandfather. Those who met and knew him loved him. He was an amazingly strong man right up to his last breath. He fought a long and hard battle with cancer that ultimately took his precious life. "Big Chris" is survived by his loving, caring mother, Mrs. Ruby W. Bradford, one brother, Phillip L. McLaurin (Bellville, IL); his sister, Veronica B. Evans (San Bernardino, CA); one son, Vernon C. Bradford Jr. (Biloxi, MS); three granddaughters: Christia Bradford, Alicia Fairley, Chrysten Bradford(all of Biloxi, MS); four nephews, Phillip McLaurin (Bellville, IL), Arthur (Sonny) Evans (Redlands, CA), Andre (Lemon) Evans (Irvine, CA), Malissa McLaurin (St. Louis, MO), a great-niece and great-nephew and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A wake will be held, Friday, December 16, 2011 from 6-8 pm in the chapel of Richmond-August Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi with visitation one hour before. The family of Mr. Vernon C. Bradford, Sr. has entrusted his arrangements to the caring, professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
