Viola Owens Beamon Yeoman was born July 17, 1943 to Mr. Freddie Owens and Beulah Berry Owens in New Hebron, MS. Viola moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the age of eight and was educated at Perkins Elementary and Nichols High School in Biloxi, MS. She married William Beamon, Sr. although this union did not last, Viola was blessed with her son, William Beamon, Jr. A lover of education, Viola went back to school to receive her GED before travelling the globe with her second husband, Charlie Yeoman, a member of the United States Air Force. She loved doing for others and being with friends. A vibrant woman, she enjoyed dancing and modeling. Many of her outfits she sewed herself. A woman of many interests, Viola also enjoyed fishing and softball. Viola always said she �didn�t want a job, just a degree� so in 2001 she graduated from Jefferson Davis College with her Teacher�s Degree. She was very proud of this accomplishment. She spent years working with children on Keesler Air Force Base. Her health began to fail in 2008, but she never gave up. She fought a long, hard battle to the end. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Yeoman, parents, Freddie Owens and Beulah Berry Owens; two brothers, Curtis Owens and Willie Owens; a special aunt, Gaitha Picket and three nephews, Jimmy Owens, Clifton Lay, and Lennie Owens. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, William Beamon, Jr.; three sisters, Evelyn Davis and Ola Mae (Willie) Miller both of Slidell, LA and Lottie Mae (Mack) McWilliams of Houston, TX. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and friends, especially two special friends, Mary Ledford of Texas and Sondra Green of Biloxi, MS just to name a few. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Greater Grace Apostolic Assembly - 394 Forrest Ave. in Biloxi. The family of Mrs. Viola O. Yeoman has entrusted her services to the caring, professional staff of RICHMOND-AUGUST FUNERAL HOME.
