Watt Lee Kemp, Sr., 76, resident of Gulfport, MS, passed away, January 10, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Sandy Ridge, Alabama, August 24, 1939, the son of the late Arthur and Lucy Kemp. Watt Lee Kemp, Sr., was married to Fannie Mae Kemp for over 60 years.
Watt Lee spent 42 years 1 month as a Civil Engineer working at Keesler Air Force Base as a part of the 81st Civil Engineering Squadron. His achievements include Supervisor of the Quarter, Employee of the Year for 5 consecutive years, Multiple Performance Award for the Department of the Air Force 81st Support Group, Worship/Past Master of Henry Beck Lodge #307, Master Electrician, Plummer, Carpenter, Brick Layer, and Auto Mechanic.
Watt Lee was preceded in death by 3 Brothers Lewis C. Kemp, Clemon Kemp, and Eddie Lee Kemp; and His only son, Watt Lee Kemp, II.
Watt Lee is survived by his beloved wife, Fannie Mae Kemp; 5 Brothers and Sisters, Charles M. Kemp, David W. Kemp (Patricia), Clanty M. Holder, Flora Jackson (Vernon), and Helen J. Lee (James); his 3 daughters, Ramona L. Jackson (Robert), Janet Kemp Carr, and Carolyn A. Gaines (Jessie)"; 8 grandchildren, Candy Rebecca Autman (William), Jennifer Nicole Scroggins (Bryan), Watt Lee Kemp, III., Paige Ramona Jackson, Jessica Samantha Gaines, Jeremy Lewis Kemp, Jovonne Fannie Carr, and Amellius Simpson (Debbie); and 4 great- grandchildren ,Jyvian, J’Anna, and Jayden Stallworth, Jace Scroggins, and Amelia Simpson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church, 321 Main Street, Biloxi, MS, 39530, at 10:00 am, Friday, January 15, 2016. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment Evergreen Cemetery Gulfport, MS.
